Samantha Marcellin was drawn to the Advanced Medical Spa Therapy program at Bryan College by her desire to help others feel the same sense of comfort and renewal she experienced with spa and esthetic treatments.
“I’ve always loved providing care and service to others, and I wanted a career where I could help people feel better physically and emotionally. Whenever I visited a spa myself, I always left feeling rejuvenated, recharged, and genuinely taken care of.”
She enrolled at Bryan College to gain the practical training and advanced skills she needed to help others feel the same rejuvenation and support.
The AMST program provided her with a strong blend of hands-on practice and theoretical knowledge, allowing her to grow both personally and professionally. She describes the learning environment as structured, encouraging, and above expectations, especially in the on-campus Student Massage and Spa Therapy Clinic, where she practiced real treatments under the guidance of experienced instructors.
“Choosing AMST has given me a clear sense of direction and purpose. It strengthened my confidence, expanded my knowledge of advanced spa and medical aesthetic treatments, and helped me discover a career that aligns with my passion for wellness and helping people. It has also opened the door to new opportunities that I’m excited to pursue.”
Samantha works part-time in a retirement residence and is actively applying for roles in medical spas. She finds meaning in uplifting others and contributing to their overall well-being, qualities she honed during her time at Bryan. She also highlights the support she received across departments and credits instructor Joy Carter as a major influence in her success.
“Joy Carter made the biggest impact on me. Not only is she an instructor, but she is also the Educational Coordinator, and she was someone I could always go to for motivation and support. Her encouragement, her belief in her students, and her own story of success inspired me throughout the entire program and kept me going during challenging moments.”
Looking back, Samantha says Bryan College exceeded every expectation she had. Her message to future students is simple: “I would encourage them to go for it. Bryan College offers excellent hands-on training, a supportive community, and instructors who truly care about your success. It’s a great place to start if you’re passionate about the wellness or medical spa field.”
